Get the ProB. If you want something cheaper and lighter, try a Benro.

None, if you smash both tripods at your 500D it won't survive.
You can have a look at this guideline for further details, do your homework. You have to spend the money finally and you will carry around the tripod.

The 190xprob would be a better choice. Not forgetting you would need to get a ballhead too.

depends how much you want to spend.

this tripod albeit cheap is pretty tough for outfield use. http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=450021

but if you dont intend to go outfield, any city use tripods that can take the weight of the system will work.

thinking of getting 190 too. been qouted for 300 for it.

Oh all right. I find that price still reasonable as roughly the tripod alone is around close to $200.

But just remember 486r2 is still not good enough
if you want try the 488rc2 is better and
u can use it for taking panorama view.
But u are going to use for Marco this BH is not good.
And their BH is quite heavy too compare to markins BH.

I'm referring to Ball head (BH).. cos Manfrotto's BH will shift after tighten. (downward)
So you need to spend more time to adjust and re-adjust....
That why I sell my Manfrotto's BH and upgrade to Markins....
After that I'm a very happy man....

I'm not too sure abt other user..
But I facing the problem with 488RC2.

After Upgraded to Markins Q3...
My problem has gone....
Once is lock and really lock solid...

This is a common combination that good enough, most CSer like. This will be my next upgrade from Benro, not so soon, though...

After checking on the ballhead, seem like 488rc2 better then 486rc2.

think will try for 190xprob plus 488rc2 combo.
