How can any one tells you what to buy??? Don't buy based on what others tell you, like this brand is not good that brand is not good. Go try it and buy base on your liking.

All brands are suitable for you, period.
Do read about the various brands and their entry level models. Go down to the showrooms and try hands-on. See what feels good to you, what is easy to operate. Read up further about specific details like: Live View, usable lenses, Image Stabilizer, Video function etc. - decide what is essential and what is just "nice to have". Decide for yourself, it's your money and you will use the camera. No point selecting a camera because other people use it also. Be an adult, not a copycat.

At the very least, stating your budget will help.

you should buy nikon's d3x. =x

Go and have a look and feel of the following cameras:

Canon EOS 1000D

Nikon D60

Sony A230

Pentax K-m

Remember, it is YOU that will use it, not US. Therefore it is YOU that needs to find the right DSLR for yourself.

U should buy Nikon D3x for beginner!!! :)

Now you should know which you should buy, hehehe :bsmilie:.

Okay just kidding. But I agree with the rest, you should provide more information on what interest you, what you are looking for in a camera, your budget and more.

I think probably the 1st step is to decide on which camp you want to be in :sticktong

Another post once and disappear newbie?

Thks everyone for the advise, any recommended model for beginner?

SLRs or DSLRs? Buy whichever cam you can afford of course. It's the same as recommending a budget holiday, Indo, Thailand or Malaysia? You decide... if you can afford Europe, go for it. Where do you like to go, we can't decide.

Actually, I have a feeling you are not reading any of our advices.

TS, for a beginner, you should get this model. If you buy it, your pictures will come out very very nice.

Nikon D3x
pair it with a Nikon 17-55 f/2.8 lens.

Hasselblad H3DII !!!

i think you should buy... minolta.

or maybe canon.

or maybe nikon might be better.

or pentax, its a very good system.

or sony, another of my favourite companies.

or leica.

or hasselbald.

or dun buy at all.

all i can say is no such thing....

it's a personal choice

for example i would choose Nikon D90, my friend bought Canon D450, some people buy 2nd, some go for the best, some go for entry level and work their way up... some go for the popular Canon, Nikon, some like Sony, wah lao i can go on n on... u must first narrow down ur choices based on ur own research then ask comments on the pros n cons for each
