Hi Guys,

Another newbie here..
Just wanna ask if there's any difference between UV & IR filter? :)

thank you!

do you mean the usual uv filter, or the filters used for uv photography?

there is huge difference in both cases.

uh..ohh..
i think only the usual filter only..
the filters that makes your image more red, or green.. sometimes blue.. :)
thanks.

a uv filter is meant to be neutral and affects your picture as little as possible.

a filter used for uv photography, i have never seen before. i hear it is rare, and very hard to use. it is meant for pictures like this in link below:

UV GALLERY

what you see mostly here in the ir/uv section is IR photography. it involves placing a filter over the lens or modifying your camera to achieve another sort of result. in short, techinical explanation aside, foliage glows, people turn ghostly, water turns black, among other things.

i have no idea what filters make your image more red, green or blue, i htink you are referring to the ir photos where color mixing is done according to one's tastes.

actually, to be honest, i am not even sure you know what you are talking about! what are you asking the question for?
