What type of charger should I get?

If you travel to say Canada where the voltage is different from Singapore, what type of charger should you get? Let's say, you will bring your digital camera, laptap and hp.

most of these u mention are 100-240v 50-60Hz so there no need for u to buy anything

most chargers are universal, i.e. they will adapt to the various voltages you can find all over the world. the problem is shoving the charger into the hole in the wall that you can find.

that said, there are rare exceptions. but most of the common brands for digital cameras, laptop, and handphones.. they will have built in transformers that overcome the problems in different voltages worldwide.

Would you say that the plug adaptor is not necessary? If I ask the salesman in the shop, would he know? Am I correct to say that common brands like Nikon, Sony have the transformers?
