Get a uv filter if u have not.
No matter how careful, wind will still often bring sand onto cam.
More importantly, avoid instinct to wipe. Rather go back hotel then slowly use blower/lens pen whatever.

1. What lense will you bring with you? That will determine the weight. Decide if you are strong enough to carry it. Walking on sandy beach is harder than paved road.

2. What will you do on the beach? That determine the risk in case you leave the camera - it might get lost.
