Hi All, i have read amny reviews but not decided. Putting price aside which would be sharpest with nice bokeh? Thanks

do you realise that these are pretty DIFFERENT lenses, because of focal length?

if you are looking to buy for hte sake of buying, like you seem to be doing here, my advice is not to buy

Ha thanks for ur comments, i wish i have tt type of resources to buy for the sake of buying. I just wanna get one tt can be multipurpose due to my budget constraint so tt i need not get too many lens.

As im not a pro. Basically using it for indoors n weddings n events with low light. I thot a zoom lens with f2.8 would be useful? As long is reasonably sharp n fast AF will be good. Thanks

before anyone can advise u, can u at least list what equipment you are currently using?? and also, what lenses u have right now??

Agreed with Night86mare.....

17-50 and 28-75 are equally good, depend on what FL you need

Do consider your camera cropping ratio. 28 may not be wide enough

Thanks Chalib, currently using D90. Usually use for my toddler, events, weddings low light. : )

Both 17-50mm and 28-75mm are worthy of consideration. If unsure, simply borrow/rent to have a feel of the lenses.

Since you've already have the Tokina 12-24mm, probably the Tamron 28-75mm would be a better choice. I've owned all these lenses before, and mine you, the Tamron 28-105mm is very heavy and it has a weird filter size, 82mm, I didn't even get the filter for the 28-105mm, sold it away as I found it too heavy.

28-75mm and 17-50mm are comparable, but, like I said, you've already have the 12-24, you'll probably prefer to use that for wide angle shots.

hmm.. than with the 14-24, do u always feel that its too wide for u? or is it just nice??

i think im fine with that with adjustment of my positions on 14-24f4. Is more of the F value as if in dim light i thot the f2.8 would make a difference in speed. : ) thks

hmm.. in that case, i think the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 or the Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8 would suit u best!!!

I have the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8, although its 1 f-stop faster than f/4, its not fast enough in low-light/indoor situations.

Realyy! cos i heard alot of comment tt 17-50 f2.8 alot of ppl use for wedding n low lights.

for me, I have tried 17-50, its good & sharp (again, for me personally)

but in case u already have 14-24, would be better for you to try 24-75, so there's no overlap range.

imo, tokina 11-16 & tamron 17-50 its a great combo :D

True, but have to pump up ISO as well if not using flash.

For indoor events like wedding, the photographer almost always uses a flash.

But f/1.8 or f/1.4 would be better without flash..

Hi narofx, so if using flash like SB600, the F is not so much of an issue already is it? So if im using f1.8 than shouldn't use flash? thanks

yeap in the sense that ur shutter wont have to open for too long and hence resulting in handshake which will cause blurred image.

However, for think like bokeh, f number still matters.

However, do note that flash isnt too good for kids/toddlers.
