Not sure if there is a way to reset, but i think there is no point for it anyway.

Even if the counter can be reset, it doesn't mean that the shutter mechanism is as good as new. Just like reseting the odometer of a car doesn't mean the car is not driven before.

Only reason I can think of is people trying to sell second hand and making the item look newer than it actually is.

right. unless TS wants to sell it again and make it appear new? If for my own use, I'd rather know the real mileage of my gear rather than not.

no i am not.. like what you guys had said. I need to know the machine of my car before driving off. Same for a camera...

I love my camera and thinking of upgrading its lenses.. but i wanna know is there a need to reset the shutter count or replace the shutter mechanism or smth..

I don't mean to say you are trying to be dishonest, knowing the counter is one thing, why the need to reset? I just wanted to point out that reseting counter (if possible) have no effect of making your gear any newer. But if you are talking about replacing your shutter mechanism, yes, that is possible, but unnecessary till many thousand shots later.

Upgrading of lenses and all have no effect on the wear and tear of your shutter mechanism. Worry less about such stuff and just have fun shooting.

People curious mah..
No wrong for a thought of that, for a newbie(me also) right? Lols.

ok thanks for the help and the advices? any advice on getting a canon 50mm f1.8 or a third party lens?
