You try the below step and tell us what happen :-
1) Copy the photos from your SD card to your PC/notebook hard disk, try to view all the photos especially the last 10-15 pictures you have mentioned.
2) Slot in another SD card to your camera to shoot enough pictures onto it. Retrieve the SD card from your camera and read it with your card reader.

That's a very strange problem you have there.
Got a few simple suggestions. Not sure if you've already done them:

- format the xd card using your camera. take photos and review again with the card reader.
- try with another xd card (if you have)
- try with another card reader
- try with direct connection to the computer from camera

i'll avoid using the memory card to the max... camera only estimate the space left enough for how many shots... it's not necessarily 100% accurate... there are chances that you shoot until full i.e. showing 0 left... and the card goes corrupted... my friend corrupted one card... successfully retrieved it with a freeware called PCI...

so good luck bro...

well, if memory cards are like harddisk, then maybe there are bad sectors in your memory card. when the image infor is written oever this, they cannot be retrieved because they cannot be read.. maybe..

I tried formatting before dunno if it's faulty card. My virgin shoot was ok (less then 100pics) but my second shoot ( which have abt 144pics) e problem surfaced since then. even after I format it couple of time, when ever the shooting hits more then 120pic e problem surface again. was thinking that it might b fault of the card.

any advise?
