And presuming you are suppling the cameras, is it possible for me to bring my 50D instead? And uh, how many people have currently registered ahs hahas?

Thanks, simon

Hello Simon,

Thanks for your interest! Allow me to briefly tell you how the event will be like:
In the morning we will have a talk by Mr. Triston Yeo, a professional photographer. He is very experienced and will surely answer any of your question about photography. He was the photographer that leads the group of winners from Canon Asia Photomarathon 2008 on a photo clinic trip to New Zealand in 2008. You can see his work http://www.tri-angles.sg/
Besides Triston Yeo, there will be two more professional photographers attending the event and they are open to any photography question from the participants. After the talk, there will be photography workshop by Canon, in which you can visit different booths on photography equipment to see around their products.
And, importantly, the team-based competition will be organised at around noon. The participants will work in team to go around SG and take photos to interpret a given theme. At the end of the day, we will judge the submitted works and announce the winning teams. Therefore, you will need to bring your own camera :)
There are a few more activities on the date of the event ... and the more the cheerier!
We are still waiting for registration and why don't you be the first person to join? :D Registration is free and if you love photography, this event is definitely where you can meet your fellow youths who share the same interest! Bring as many friends of yours as possible (within 14-20 years old) and I hope to see you there!

Oh no, I missed the boat for being borned in late 1987. :(

Hi i just wanted to know if i join with my friends would be be allowed to be in the same team? but we use different brand cameras! Oh and what is the attire on that day, wouldn't it be a school day?? please PM me your reply!

Triston...so he`s back in SG.

Guess too old to join officially but i dont think should be a problem to attend the talk. maybe organizer can post the itinerary.

would be interesting to have a couple of "Old" teams just for the fun of it. anyone interested? i am more into events so if anyone good in macro or artistic care to join, we can form an Old Man Team. Pretty sure the young bloods will benefit from the experience we have to offer since we do make a living out of photography and in my case, videography as well. :D

Hello everyone, :)

Thanks for all your interest in our event! Let me answer your inquiries:
@soons: I am so sorry about this, but if by 25th of July and you are still 20, you still can join the event!
@Wacky: Pm you already :)
@Reportage: Pm you already too :)
@velasco: The teams will be randomly fixed because we want to create an opportunity for all the participants to get to know and work with new friends. It will be more fun if you can get to know a few more fellows who also like photography, right? ;)
@Xeathor: I am really sorry but the age limit is already set. However, I will definitely let you know if there are any changes because there are a few more people similar to you that also want to join :)
@afipuffy: Well, I'm really sorry to hear that ): However, we are organizing annually. Hope to see you next year :)
@shadowpartner: Yes, you just need to register and you are confirmed in :D. However, the team will be random so everyone can make friends with new fellow photographers :)
@PrimePhotog: Thanks.

is there any possibility to prefix the team? would be better this way.

I am sorry but the rules are already set. As prefixing the team is not a good way to engage all the participants to interact with one another, we have to randomize the team. Please understand for this. Thanks.

I take it there will be sign posting to lead people to where the registration booth is?

Yes, there will be ushers on that date. Information will be sent through your emails once you submit the registration form.

Interschool? Meaning you have to be part of an instituition? :eek:
For NS guys?

Inter-school is because people will be coming from many different schools that we invited. It's completely open to everyone in public too, as long as you are within the age limit, you can always register :)

Hello everyone,

Due to the current situation of H1N1 outbreak, the SYPC will be postponed to another date later in this year. As soon as we confirm our new dates, we will make a new announcement again.

Registration has been extended, so please hurry up and register now. We will update you with the date through emails!

Thanks for your interest and please wait patiently. We will be back very soon!
