Still thinking of a used D80 or a new D90 .......
Need all e gurus here for advise...

also will it be advisable to have e 50 mm AF/1.4 over 1.8 if $ is not e primary concern?

Welcome to CS.

Both are decent choices and it depends on what you need out of the camera, if you dun need the video function, and you want to save up on some money, I'd say go with the D80.

As for the 50mm, it's the built quality and the quality of the bokeh which separates the 2 (other than the cost). See what you need.

About the lens, if you have money, go for Nikon, if not, can get a Sigma.
Try read some post in Sigma / Tamron side.
I use to only believe in non-third party lens, but somehow, 3rd party lens are cheaper, but give us almost similar quality.
