Hi all, I want to go deeper into portraiture. Use to take candids and snapshots.
but i need to learn how to work with models and stuff.
Any tips and advice??

Also what sort of equipments( lens, filter, flash..etc.) do u guys usually use for such shoots??

Maybe you would like to join a couple of model shoots organised first and strat from there. Different people have different preferences when comes to equipment use. Some like a 50mm prime lens, others prefer a longer 85mm lens, some like 24-70mm lens while some prefer the 70-200mm. Really there is no standard lens for use in portraiture. I've even seen people shooting a model with a 11-18mm lens and a 500mm lens. Just use what ever you are comfortable with.

A flash would be good to have if there are no reflectors available.

I suggest reading up more on composition and how to pose models. TONS of info if you try google...

If you've started with candids and snaps, then brush it up further...

Can you achieve better compositions? Does it make your subjects stand out? READ up more, on various areas like lighting, posing your subject, etc...

The thing we can't teach is how to communicate with your subject. It's up to you to make them feel relaxed and able to deliver the poses and effects you want.
