hi guys, lately i notice that my filter has been fogged up, it was not due to extreme changes in temperature, cos all along for the past 10 over hours, it was at room temperature, and my lens are not fogged up, what could be the reason? i tried cleaning the filter, and it got more "fogged up like" patches... extremely hard to clean...

Did you ever use a a big bottle of cleaning liquid that is blue and says good for cleaning monitor and lens?

i need to use a torch light to shine through it to see the fog...
its not good... Mine fogged up too, it is a very even layer and it is there whether regardless of temp or humility. Clean it off using lenspen, seem like thin layer of oil. (From the air?)
it could probably be due to many tiny scratches on the filter.
when you clean your filter, do you use lens tissue? if you do, do you use it with the cleaning solution or without? if without, there's the cause.
if you use a small cloth to clean it, it would probably be because the cloth has small particles which can cause it to scratch, thus leading to the effect that your filter is 'foggy'.

Other people pay a huge a mount of money to get Fog Filters - you got it foc and still complaining? :bsmilie:
Jokes aside, clean the filter carefully and leave the filter box open in the dry cabinet. Had some fogging before when the box was closed and filter not used for longer time. Apart from that you might want to get a better filter, Sunblitz is just a low budget thingy thrown in at HN.

if you the fog like thing on your filter still does not disappear in room temperature after some time, and you tried using lens cleaning lotion also can't get ripe it, it will be a gone case.
time to get a new filter, this usually happen on very old old filters, like ten twenty years old filters, if your is a new filter, it could be due to poor quality.

Now i remember the brand, Monster solution. It leaves smuggy coat that is waterproof and very hard to remove, not even with lens tissue + alcohol. I run my filter with run + soap cannot remove it. Finally, I had to use the spectacle cloth + ha ha breaths to remove it. That's what I call tough coat.
I presume you have been talking about UV glass filter and not acrylic soft filters. Acrylic soft filters can never to be rubbed with anything as they scratches easily.
Being using lens tissue without solution for like years now.. and never had a scratch.. are you sure its lens tissue or just tissue?
