Hi everyone,

Noob here. I'd like to get some advice on what lens i can get for a Nikon F90X. A friend just gave me his old F90X as a 'hand me down' but it didnt have any lens with it.

What's a decent beginners lens and how much roughly would it cost? Some tips on what brand and where to get it in singapore would be greatly appreciated. If you have one you'd like to sell, please let me know too.

Thanks!!! ;)

Any of the AF lenses from Nikon would be able to be used with this camera. Do note that this camera may only offer limited program functions if used with a 'G' lens as you'd need to set the aperture using the aperture ring for A mode and M mode.

Have fun with it... ;)

If you need a flash. Pair it with Nikon SB25 or SB26.
Cheers

thanks for all the replies guys.

i see some mentioning zoom lenses and other prime lenses. should i get a zoom lens or a prime lens? im only gonna be doing casual photography for now. so i wont really be using the camera much unless i decide to explore more later on.

thanks again!

The prime will make you think more in terms of composition and make help you learn better. but if you're looking for a simple all-rounder, then go for a zoom.

ah i see. in terms of brands.. would you say i should just go for nikkor/nikon (i dunno if its the same..) or are other brands worth it too (ie. sigma etc..)?

Stick with the nikkors,

Not very ex anyway... esp for the older AF lenses.
