Hi all I have been using normal compact camera for Indoor photo shooting ( Mostly potrait ). Now planning to change to a DSLR.

Any good recommendation of DSLR for indoor shooting ? :D

My budget is around $1300.

do you have a tripod? Which may need to take consideration if you intend to get which i think will blow yr budget if you do not have. :)

Canon/Nikon/Sony Alpha entries model should fit your price range, go down to some shops for try/testing, ask for price to see which one suits you. :)

Thanks.. I saw court having a sales right now.

EOS500DKIT ( with EF S18-55IS Lens ) selling at $1469.

Free gift include 8Gb SD, 8 Gb USB drive, 3 section tripod and EOS bag.

Is that a good buy?:)

The issue is whether the tripod will serve you well in long term when you decide to take it to another level. Check out MS colour/CP/J316 first before jumping into courts which is not a popular place to buy DSLR.

Thank for the info.. but where is MS Colour CP J316?

MS is in amk
CP is in marina sq or peninsular plaza

not too sure about j316 cus i nv been there.

btw you can also consider second hand Nikons or canons, and u can check them out on buy & sell section here.

@speciallyforhim,

Since you'll be doing indoor photo shoots, I recommend a sturdy tripod, and I suggest getting the 4-section tripod because you'll need the extra height for that "group shoots" that you may or may not encounter during your shooting.

I also recommend getting a flashgun unit for that "extra lighting reach" if the indoor lighting is poor.

All-in-all, they costs more than the price you are originally putting aside, but they are very much required for indoor shooting. Others will have their opinions, so weigh your options well.

As for the Courts offer, I concur with 3in1c: you're much better off in other camera-centric shops. MS Color Photo (AMK Hub, 3rd floor) usually dole out cheapest items for specific gears. Cathay Photo (Peninsula Plaza, 1st floor) have a wide range of accessories that you can choose and/or ask. John 3:16 (Funan Centre, 5th floor) are very customer-oriented, and their selling point is to give you an informed decision as to what you should get and buy that suits your needs.

All-in-all, I hope this advice answers some of your questions.

Hi thanks for the advise.. got myself a EOS450 at cathay photo this afternoon. :)

Hi , so is there a recommendation for flash? don't have much budget now.. maybe less then 150 will be good.
