Juz wondering, any better ways to hang the clothes outside of the window other than swinging the monsterous bamboo out?

#1, use a shorter bamboo,
#2, use retractable laundry hanger system,
#3, use laundry dryer,
#4, hang inside your house,
#5, hang at corridor,
#6, send for laundry clearing
#7, stay in landed property.

ya i wish i had a balcony...saves all the trouble especially if the sky turns dark, then suddenly brightens again

how does a dryer works? does that mean i don't have to hang my clothes every again? juz pop all the wet clothes in and i can wear it soon after?

pop your clothes in (about 5 kg), close the door and twist the knob and wait 1 hour. :bsmilie:

if i'm not wrong it blows hot air into the drum while spinning it. something like oven roasting your clothes. depending on wad type of clothes, got different temperature and timing to dry.

electricity/gas bills will climb though. a dryer is especially useful during rainy/monsoon season where the clothes won't dry even if hung for 2 or 3 days.

save the earth, hang using clothes hanger on window (open ajar so still got protection if suddenly rain), best if you are 5th floor and above to avoid thief climbing form behind your flat.

Yea, the dryer is a convenient way to go! I oven roast my laundry everyday:bsmilie:

Anyway, yea, like sometimes, the clothes very long never wear, hang in cupboard, then develop this stale smell..... U dun have to wash, just pop into the dryer for say 20mins or so.

Anyway, for a full load to dry, i need 90mins. So it's like 1.5hrs....

Electricity bill, not sure coz I dun pay the utilities:)

But, but one thing to take note. Do not use washing machine n dryer at the same time. I did that before(too many days nvr do laundry, then one wash cannot fit all in)

The next thing i know, circuit breaker trip. Over load! So i assume that washing machine+dryer=overload, hence, they both consume tonnes of POWER!

What's interesting is clothes dryer are exempted from listing down their wattage as per other electrical appliances. I have always been curious about them. It is very difficult to find any info on their energy consumption. But i finally managed to track down a website that states the energy consumption and its like 5000 watts  (not sure if this is a correct number but i see no reason to doubt as they have listed down other appliances and those seems accurate)

So.. clothes dryer or not ... go figure ....

My laundry area used to have only 1 electrical plug. Meaning if want to use dryer and machine together got to used the multiple plug. 1 fine day i found that the multiple plug had melted, damaging the socket as well. It probably meant that the load was so high that the plastic of the multiple plug cannot take the heat and melt.. Circuit breaker din trip though. Had to spend $100 plus to get a new socket. We installed a new 2 output socket. so no problems so far.

Why u change socket so expensive? Very easy to DIY one u know? Inside the connections very simple one. Three wire only. One live, one neutral, one earth.

Just go those hardware shop n buy the twin socket one, then split the existing electric path into two and connect to each of the socket can liao.

It probably cost $10-$20??

I changed mine once before, oso something like multi plug melt and damage socket.... Sparks flying out that kind:sweat: But do note, cut off the mains first before u do anything. Mains refer to both circuit breaker and the main board outside. Play safe...

my parents got it changed while i was i camp. never tell me also. just call the contractor come.

2.7KW should be 2700 watts.

Another alternative for dryer would be to get gas heated dryer, especially for those homes with pipe-in gas from SP. I believe your utilities bill will be lower as compared to using an electric dryer.

If you have a service balcony, you can also install your aircon multi-unit compressor in the service balcony. Just hang your clothes in the service balcony, switch on your aircon, and within an hour, all your clothes will be dry.

Thats what my parents did for their house. Their reason for installing the compressor in the service balcony is for easy maintenance of the compressor. But you got to make sure your service balcony can be close off to the rest of the house:bsmilie:. Still it turned out they can both dry their clothes quickly while enjoying the cool aircon in their room.
