Hi,

I was trying a LowePro bag over the weekend, which fit the combo well but when I lifted the bag, it bulged at the bottom of the bag. Obviously, it cannot withstand the weight of this beast well ;).

I am looking for a bag that is able to store both the body & lens attached & can easily access the camera when needed (think shoulder bag can do a better job here as compared to backpack. I could be wrong). I have this bad habbit (is it just me?) of keeping my camera in a bag once I'm done with it. This way, I can enjoy my walk without worrying anything bad will happen to my cameras (I did the same to my PnS camera) :embrass:.

Anyone has any good recommendation for the above mentioned?

Thanks in advanced.

Cheers,
Ben

Would it be a backpack, shoulder bag, etc ?

Body with lens attached ?

Have not found the ideal backpack but am using the Domke F-2 as a shoulder back.

Thanks for highlighting that, bro. I have updated my post to provide more information.

Cheers,
Ben

Bro, I hv same setup as you. If just for walkabout with add 50mm or similar sized lens, I use the Toploader 75AW ... enuf for additional accessories like filters, etc. If adding more equipments, Flipside 300AW works for me. :)

Had problem with the Flipside 300 ... so dumped it earlier.

Consider the Lowepro Stealth reporter series if you like shoulder bags.

And are those the only gear you intend to use?? Any other gears?

Yes, it's just for the above mentioned equipment. Safe, secure & fast access when I'm traveling light. I am thinking of getting another bag much later to hold everything (probably Flipback 200/300) just before I go for any overseas trip (don't get me wrongly, I'm not rich). Just want to get something practical.

I'm not limiting myself to shoulder bag. I don't have experience with other type other than this. Feel free to share your choice of bags.

Cheers,
Ben

If just for this setup (without the vertical grip), you can even consider a micro-trekker from Lowepro.

It's a cute small backpack which I used previously.

Now, I kinda left it aside as I have now added a vertical grip permanently to the camera and it does not fit anymore.

Try Tamrac System 6 which may carry the D700 + 24-70 f/2.8 lens in horizontal manner.

Thanks for your suggestions, bro.

Keep the suggestion going. I still have not finalised which bag to buy (although I have decided to have 2 bags). 1 for travelling light & the other one to fit in all my gadget.

Hi,

Anyone using Think Tank Photo for this setup? Speed Demon or Speed Freak or others? I wish to narrow down my selection before heading to the shops.

Cheers,
Ben

The Think Tank StreetWalker easily takes your DSLR+24-70mm f2.8 ... if ease of access if not your primary concern. It's well-built, comfortable but a little bulky.

Thanks, yyD70S.

Yes, easy & fast access is top priority for this bag I'm looking for. I'm very new to TTP. Reading through items listed in their website but it's going to take me sometime to digest all. So, a quick recommendation would greatly help.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Ben

For TTP, you can do no wrong by paying TK Foto (at Beach Road) a visit. Richard &/or James would be more than happy to explain the pros and cons to you.

Finally, settled for ThinkTank Photo - Speed Freak. Just love it !

Excellent quality & practically designed.

Cheers,
Ben

an SAF medic bag (better grade of the china bag) would be ideal and wont cost too much money compared to camera brand bags. Can say its about as tough and possibly tougher then even Domke.

but then if have money to burn.......
