My Tamron 10-24mm

I dunno if this is a proper place to post up this photos cause I cant find a better place than this. Sorry Admin/moderator if its the wrong place.

anyway i recently got a hold on a Tamron 10-24mm and I am loving it. Some shots of it.

I know got dust. I abuse it alot. I'm a land/city scape kind of person. So i use this lens darn often.


anyway, pls do c&c about my product shoot on the tamron.

Its my first time doing product shoot and I kept hearing about product shoot needing a good lighting from the flash and good 1:1 proportion but I think i bent the rules abit and tried something close to it. any tips to up my photos?



and I got this with the lens.

and pls do shoot me about the punggol shot. I been wonder what is wrong with this picture. I shot this with the LRT track as the track acts as a leading line for viewers to 'trace' thru and end up seeing the sunset at the end of the track. but somehow its not working as i want it to. Any tips too for this??

nice shot! great to find another fellow photographer just having fun with the UWA (i'm using a Sigma 10-20mm). I'm reallie quite a newbie in this, but can still share my comments.

I think the idea is great but the LRT track doesn't really stand out from the rest of the picture (i.e. grass, sky, cranes) as it goes nearer to the sunset. So the focus kind of disappears. cy_j's point on the track leading the viewer out of the picture seems to explain why it doesn't work too. Perhaps using the rule of thirds might help here, by cropping off some more grass at the bottom to avoid the distractions due to too much space?

Not sure if i make much sense here.

Anyway i do like using leading lines too, it's one of the few tips i picked up in this forum in composition that i feel works well for beginners like me.

For the pictures of your lens, try bouncing the flash instead of shooting it directly. The flash is a little too harsh. Shooting a closeup of the item is fine it's the lighting that needs work.

As for the picture of the LRT track, perhaps there's too much grass at the bottom. If you could crop the image so that it's more landscape and remove the lower grassy portion, it would work quite nicely.

hmm. thanks. i consider this when going for the next shoot. I guess i think too much about leading lines that i forgot about other rules.

The natural movement of my eye is attracted to sweep from the middle of the track to the upper part, and thus out of the frame. Mostly because the track becomes larger.

Much harder for my eye to be drawn towards the diminishing size of the track at the lower portion - must be a conscious decision on my part.

the missing thing is your subject..
the lines lead nicely into the middle but there's nothing there.

for example, a buildign or statue. but you only have empty space.
