Hi guys. I've had lots of many other bag threads, so I promise this will be the last.

Anyway, I'm going to sell my Lowepro Primus AW later, and have potential buyers for my Lowepro Stealth Reporter D200 AW in the near future. That allows me to get a bag with greater volume. I can afford a bit of a top up from those sales.

For normal photo shoots, I'd like to place the following:
Gripped camera
17-40L
50 1.4 and/or 85 1.8
70-200 2.8IS (must allow lens to be mounted on camera hood in-place)
580EXII
Macbook 13" Unibody
Macbook charger and long wire adapter (will fill 1 lens slot)
Jacket (could open a few lens slots and stuff the jacket in, or even have it in an L position covering the bottom and side. Perhaps I could just lay it flat above the gear?) Note: Jacket can fit into lowepro 60aw pouch (volume similar)

For special want-lots-of-gear situations, add:
another gripped camera
tokina 11-16 2.8
another 580EXII (or 430EXII)

Firstly, what I *dont* like.
Vertex 100 - read from reviews, many have problems with even small notebooks. Normal gear will fit, big-events gear won't.

Fastpack 350 - Anyone thinks it looks so cushiony weird? Don't need that big a daypack.

Compurover aw - Cannot mount 70-200 on camera with hood in position. Don't need big daypack space.

Compuprimus - Had problems with the Primus AW not fitting what I need to bring along. Expensive for what it's worth.

Computrekker aw - Larger than the following two bags, and apparently has problems taking out the camera gear without taking off the tripod.

I filtered my search down to two. The Lowepro Vertex 200, or the Streetwalker Harddrive.

So, which do you prefer out of the two, and why?

Pricing- Vertex 200: SGD270, Streetwalker HDD: SGD240, both from John3:16. Cathay quoted me SGD323 for the vertex 200!

Similarly priced, similar specs. I have a lowepro waterbottle pouch and 60aw pouch for use with my lowepro toploader 75 (when I don't want to bring my macbook along). Not sure if that counts.

What say you? If there are other bags, please suggest. I'd like it to be from Lowepro or Thinktank, though. My self-vote goes to the streetwalker, just because reviewers say the bag isn't that heavy. I carried my friend's Vertex 200 and it was slightly too heavy for me to bear at the time. I could get used to it, though, especially after reading reviews that the vertex has better padded straps.

Cheers,
Zexun

Go for the TT PSWHD. :)

I had the smaller brother of TT PSWHD, good padding, comfy straps, and feels good on the back even with heavy loads.

Used to have Computrekker AW, I will immediately throw away this junk for TT PSPWHD if it is available some years back :p

Hm, thinktank 5, lowepro 1. That's good to hear. I've always heard good things about think tank.

i recently bought think tank streetwalker hard drive.. and i must say it is very comfortable.
my equipment inside the bag is:
- 15inch laptop
- camera with batt grip
- 3 lens 70-200mm, 17-55mm, 50mm
- flash with lightsphere
- tripod
- filters
- spare camera batt, 8 AA size batt
- chargers (camera, laptop), cables

the thick padding really helps on my shoulder..
gd luck on getting yr bag!
cheers!

Don't just hear good things about it, try it! :)

You should go TK Photo or J3:16, try out the bag on your shoulders.

Open up every zip, touch and feel the material. *opps* :p

i very satisfied with my TT SW HD,
i've got 2 D80, Tokina 11-16, Nik 24-70, 70-200. all with hoods.
cleaning kit and accessories.
15" MBP (frm 2 gens ago) *HEAVY* and charger
488RC2 Ballhead
and can strap on my fullsize alu manfrotto anytime with ease.

Personally havent tried the Vertex series, but those who know, can explain why it cause so much more than the SWs?

the vertex has more nooks and crannies than the TT.

TT user. love the bag. i load up so many things that my shoulders broke first.

a sample of what could be put in easily. can easily carry the 70-200 on the camera and slot the 24-70 at the side, replacing the film magazine, and the extra body into the 645 slot.

TT stuff lah.....:bsmilie:......they never failed to give a lot of dividers, which you can do different configurations with your equipments. From the list of equipments you have, the bag is able to meet your needs.

It is not how many the equipments can be put into the bag, it is how you configure your bag to squeeze everything in. :bsmilie:

BTW, you need to stengthen your shoulder and back in order to carry those.

Alright, I am now a VERY happy owner of a Think Tank Photo StreetWalker Harddrive :)

Maybe I'll post my own reviews next time.

I went from a flipside to a streetwalker. Overall I'm happy with the features + size but I do prefer Lowepro's overall quality. Thicker padding and dividers for one; TT dividers are disappointingly thin and bendy. I think my Lowepro had tidier stitching overall, too.

I have the harddrive. My suggestion is get the Vertex instead. The TT can be quite heavy, the padding is not as thick as the vertex ad the lumbar strap is much more comfortable on the vertex.

TT = 1.6kg, Vertex = 3.6kg.. err..?

eagerly awaiting for your review... thanks.

ah.. this was just posted. seems like quite hard to find a good review of TTSWHD.
how u find this bag?

I really really like the bag. It fits everything that I own and usually borrow ie 2 cameras 3 lenses (incl 70-200) 2 flashes, accessories such as remote flash triggers, remote shutter trigger, angle finder, 4.5m of USB extended wires, and a jacket in the main compartment. In the other compartments, I have 2 x 4 battery packs, flash color filters and acrylic bounce card, CDs, pencils, lowepro CF card holders (can hold 12 CF cards), water bottle, umbrella.

Shoulder straps are very very very very comfy. The waist straps should have padding to make them comfortable, but that will take away the feature of hiding the straps for travel.

I love the bag, and find that it really works well for me.
