Cannot decide between D90 or D60.
Student, 15, planning on going into Photography course in Poly.
List pros and cons and which is more suitable for me please?
Thanks in advance.

Take Nikon FM10 - dirt cheap- great for student of photography, fully manual which makes you think about the basics : aperture, shutter speed , ASA or ISO, and manual focusing. Did I mention it's great for a student because it's dirt cheap?

Hey there,

Which poly you going into? I'll be joining photography too :bsmilie:

I'm planning to go to Temasek's Visual Communication once I graduate.
Hope my grades get me there. :/

What about you? :D

If you can afford it get the D90, otherwise the D60 is not too bad too. Just work within your budget. Do not forget that you will need good lenses, filters and a dry cabinet too.

FM10 using film right? so if you add the cost of film, may cost more in the long run.

get D90 if budget not an issue here.

I thought photography courses always include traditional darkroom developing. *shrug* . if it still does, go for a film cam.

 D90 unless u have a budget problem. Remember to plan for a couple of suitable lens in your budget as well. And oh, on that count, the D90 will be able to work with a larger range of lenses and that may help to lower the budget on the lenses if you're willing to go 2nd hand....

Thanks all very much for replying my question, much appreciated.
Have decided to get D90 now, though will have to save up first. :(
Wish me luck! :D
