Depends on what types of pics you are taking...
But if you need the zoom, then definately it won't be suitable for you as the zoom equivalent for the LX3 is only from 24mm to 60mm.
Oh ok
So Lx3 is suitbale for taking still objects and landscape? haha
Pardon me.
Kind of clueless
LX3 is good for landscape and low light photography as it has a 24mm lens and a large aperture of f2.0.
Still objects, to be frank, any digicam can take under the right lighting.
So if you are not going to use the LX3 at the zoo/birdpark and you just want to take landscape pics and pics in the late evening/at night etc without using your flash, then the LX3 could be suitable for you.
Welcome to Clubsnap. Very rare to have members that come from Hawaii.
Btw, you might also want to take a look at Fuji F200EXR. The LX3 is good if you would like to have more control, while the F200EXR is good in high iso and high dynamic range.
haha, but how much does it cost?
well suitable for a student.
Hmm.. budget well suited for student? In that case I would recommend a Nikon D3 then. Cos money won't be an issue, just ask from Dad. ;p
Ok jokes aside, the LX3 would cost around $680, while the F200EXR around $470. Do bear in mind if you go with the F200EXR that it doesn't really give you a lot of control though.
Other model to consider would be the Canon G10. It's heavier and bulkier, but is consider prosumer grade.
How much do you intend to spend?
Hmm I think <$900.
Haha,I think it's time for me to be independent..hahah.
But then hor,I know nuts about photography...
However I like photography..sounds contradicting...lol

In that case, you can consider getting a new G10 which will cost $700++ or a second hand G9 which would probably be around $500 odd. Or you could get a SX10IS that will give you a zoom range of 28 to 560mm which would be suitable for most shooting situations. :bsmilie:
Haha no problem. There are a lot of uncle aunty here that are very knowledgeable. That's why you're here for right? To learn more about photography and to share the passion.
