Just appeared after a few hundred shots. Never seen this happen to me in other cameras. Is CMOs or CCD sensor more prone to this?

A very quick question, RAW or JPEG did you shoot in?
The white dots are dusts on the lens barrel.
sorry for OT, but the dots are in the same position even after i changed lens. so could be dust on the low pass filter. have not tried using a swab to clean it yet.
but on day shots, i do not see the white dots. strange....
What does zoomzoomzoom's shot got to do with your lens?
that's why i apologised for OTing.
(and i brought out my white-dot issue thinking it could be the same problem)
but, sorry again.
TS - the red dot does looks like a hot pix, to confirm, go shot at something else which is black or dark color and see if the red dot appear, if so then you have a hot pix issue liao
if under warranty, u can bring down to nsc and ask them to try and map away that pix
shucks just had a look with my recent pictures with dark backgrounds. they all have that red dot at the exact same spot. i'll just have to go to nsc to see if they can help, too bad that will have to wait for a couple of weeks as i'm travelling.
