was out shooting last saturday till sunday. both of my 2 friends needs to take the night rider back home, so went to the bus stop near the BK coffee shop along south bridge rd.

a fight broke out while we were waiting for the buses, easily 10 guys punching and kicking 1 guys and left him there at the bus stop bleeding (not very badly), after a while he got up and walk away.

after my friends boarded their bus, i continue walking and shooting along singapore river. as i was crossing the road to get to 1 fullerton, there were police car and ambulance stop at the junction, next to the big staircase down to the eateries. down there, saw some police questioning some yongsters who was sitting on the floor and the nurses were leaving.

am i suay that day, so long never shoot overnight, that day alone see 2 cases. is singapore getting unsafe in the weekend nights?

Boat quay area is known to have lots of fights in the past, almost every other night and worst on weekends (between 2002 to 2004). Nowadays, seldom lah, you must be damn lucky to witness one :)

You got chance to show some of your Tae Kwon Do 13 dan black belt moves.
Youngsters now got no Bruce Lee to see in cinema. They got no icon to emulate. So they get in shitty small fights trying to look tough.

Now no bruce lee, now have Ip Man, his shi fu. Even worse right? Scarehh..

I can only said that Singapore is relatively safe compared to most of the country......last time i saw gang fight is 3-4 years ago at Orchard Road, at least got 30plus ppls involved......

for the 1st fight, dm and me was not more than 10 steps away, very up close to the actions.:sweat:

i doubt so it is gang fights, all teenagers. most of the givers are smaller in size than the receiver. so i guess this is when u can say unity is strength. but this can be a bad things. if 1 on 1 or even 3 on 1, i doubt so there will be a fight. very likely the problem would have been just argument. when in group, especially in the presence of xmm, smallest thing can turn into a fight so as to show machoness.

I also think that this is the main reason.....teenagers....what other problem will they have........hiaz....

i know, u know why, cause i also went through that phase of growing up.:sweatsm::sweatsm:

part of growing up lar, when one gets older, we will always weigh the pros & cons of things.

The 'fight' we saw reminded me of a bunch of little ants pawing their way desperately at a single insect. At least that's what the teenage kids looked like from 10 steps away. :bsmilie:

The drunken upper Orchard Road and Orchard Towers brawls - those can get pretty violent.
