I was looking at the Whale Tail diffuser from Gary Fong. The complete Whale Tail Studio set is selling at USD$129. I really wonder is it really that great and is it worth to spend so much on a flash diffuser alone?

if u like a diffuser with a better range and a hard/soft look,
try the orbis ring flash head.
works like wonder to me.

just wondering the price of the orbis ring flash here in Singapore. It's USD $199 on the official website but how much you got it for? (that is assuming you didn't get it from the site itself.)

Anyone can help enlighten me as well?

:D

hm... wondering if the tago one will perform just as well? any users? am thinking of getting it...

i'm also curious about the difference between the Lambency Flash Diffuser and the Lambency Universal Flash Diffuser. am using a 430ex at the moment, with the "a better bounce card", (white foam paper). will the Lambency Flash Diffuser or the Lambency Universal Flash Diffuser provide me with better lighting when i'm outdoors? ie, no ceiling?

Of course not.
Unless said diffuser is so good and special until there are no other means that come close.

I spend my diffuser for just 20 cents and its DIY Gary Fong's product which actually much better than the product. Mine i made using material which bought at IKEA and this DIY have been share from many student photographer at USA and London doing fashion and wedding photography. You just need to use Silicon Drawer Mat to make the diffuser. And when you make extra from it, you can sell to your friends which cost $10. :)

Still within budget for trying new toys and accessories

How does your DIY diffuser look like? Care to share?

I'll get if it's able to achieve a certain desired effect... but i would see if that's a similar product at a cheaper price on the market before i dump in my money...

$100 on a piece of plastic is plain stupid... use a bounce card..;)

How did u managed to make the diffuser man? Haha cool ****!

I would if it serves my purpose. Have a WT Reporter kit for $205.

Can share the reason for getting the Reporter series instead of Studio?

I got mine from a HK website but i think it's the same as the tago one. Works well for me. ;)

Which shop did you get it from and is it cheaper? What flash are you using and how do you find it?
