Are they a reputable store to buy from? They gave me a very attractive quote (but of cos realistic price.. not ridiculous) but I was worried about being conned with a re packaged unit.

They showed me Singapore Canon Warranty Card.

Just want to know if anyone for experience with them.

Really, how attractive is attractive? Is it worth the sleepless nights after you purchased from them? Or you could have just spend more to buy from a reputable shop and be done with it.

IMO, I will never ever trust any shops at Lucky Plaza. If you want a reputable shop, I recommend you try MSC. :D

Attractive means able to match lowest price of Canon Price Lists in the Canon folder. When I go around other shops, all say price is old and not updated. So, to answer your question, 20-50 bucks lower. It's a decent savings.

MSC make me headache cos no stock for my item for 3 weeks. I wait till neck long long and they call me ask me go buy from someone else after this long wait. They cliam new stock come maybe higher price.

Did you check with Lord's at #01-79?

Personal account:

I go in to enquire about a tripod. They quoted me a very good price.

The next day, the price increased by some 200%. And they give me attitude summore. And be careful when they show you the "folder". Many times they quoting List Price and not Recommended Retail Price.

Another shop you can try is John 3:16 or Alan Photo.

The only shop worth going in Lucky Plaza is Lord's.
The rest are meant to treat all foreigners and locals as roberts. :nono:

sucks... they quoted me $50 bucks for a 4GB SDHC card 1 month ago... thinking I'm roberts ??? Hahaha... I walked off immediately

it seems like "salesmen" at lucky plaza, in general, applies the same techniques to coax you into buying their products. they start off by hiking up the price by approximately 200%, asking you your budget, and unprofessionally work things their way from then. sometimes i find myself cornered and feel bad backing out :what: imho, its better visiting outlets recommended by cs. well, thats just my opinion though.

Another vote of confidence for Lord's in lucky plaza. I managed to get very cheap quotes in Lucky Plaza too, cheaper than CP,MS,etc, but you get the strange feeling something is fishy about the sales people, which is later confirmed when they try the oldest trick in the book: they sell u cheap on the cam or lens but mark up the filters alot.

However, Lord's pricing is very consistent and they dun do tricks...

Lucky Plaza corner shop, Southern Cross? I buy my stuff from them, very cheap prices, unbelievable but i never had a problem with them. Charlie is a great guy to talk to.

What gives you a headache about this? It's a very honest answer. How many shops can admit that they don't have stock and even warn you that the new stock would be more expensive? How many shops will try to comfort you "please wait.." and later will give you all kinds of excuses for higher price?
Have mixed experiences with Lords. When I was there with my friends I got a good deal. Returning alone they tried daylight robbery. MSC is consistent, no tourist "surcharge".

have always gotten fair pricing from Lord's.... you need to speak to the same guy you always buy from...

i think you are talking about Southern Cross.

I get some of my stuff there too, good prices, and never had a problem with them so far, in terms of both service and warranty.

They are official canon dealers acknowledged by canon singapore.

but the choice still up to you, if you dont feel comfy with them, go try another shop. =)

Official canon or nikon dealer doesn't means that the shop is genuine and reputable. Look through Nikon dealer page, and you can easily find one or two that are blacklisted shop. They might sell you cheap, but convince you to buy something else at sky price. Before you buy, just do a search on this shop if there are any bad experience in Clubsnap.

Shops listed here should be good.
