do u use strap to hold your camera with 70-200mm around your neck? seems not feasible...

Yes I do, whenever I'm shooting tele ranges. Why does it not seem feasible? Have you seen sports photographers, with one 70-200 on one body, one 400mm on another body, and one 500mm on a third body?

what i mean by feasible mean the weight of the lens + body can really strain your neck , doesn't it?

bcoz tot of getting it, but wondering how should i carry it to outside...its not like 18-200 kinda portable..
it can't even fit in my small camera bag... (am i supposed carry a big bag?)

Firstly, I don't think you wanna strap a camera with that lens around your nexk. If you were to do so, it would be better to whole the lens, with the strap securing around your neck. If not, you can always strap it round your shoulder right? I think that will make it easier and less straining on yourself as well. =D

a hand grip perhaps?

how about a simple question... the moment u step out of your hse.. where is your 70-200mm lens?

the 70-200 is nothing compared to the bigger lenses!
even if i had the 300 2.8 i would still put the strap over my neck
although i hardly use it that much now, i just wrap it around my hand, and hold on tight.

i keep my long lens in my bag...

You get used to it eventually - it's advantageous to be rather big built if you want to carry a lot of loads around, because ultimately, if you are bigger, you can carry more without causing too much problems to your body.

A 70-200 shouldn't be too much of a problem to sling around whole day (if you add a body and vg, it should be 3kg), though slinging on the neck isn't too comfortable, so I sling mine around my shoulder.

which 70-200 lens u mean? the f4L versions are not that bulky, i think.
i carry mine attached to the cam in my Tamrac velocity sling bag. just shift the bag to front, pull out and shoot..very easy :)

Usually in my bag. Then when i reached the site, i unload the equipment, load the lens and strap it either to my neck or handheld all the way. Unless there is a need for a smaller "pistol" i will have the 70 - 200 on all the way.:bsmilie:

Overseas it can be around my neck for more than half a day.
( of course in between making shots .. )

That's the reason they invented R-Strap
