Was looking at the price...Is D700 so call better than 5D... Sorie not to bring any WW3... Just asking...:)

I am using fuji S5 with quite a lot of Nikon MF leneses...:)

The manual focusing lenses will still work fine with an adaptor on the Canon bodies except no autoaperture, but will work with the D700 the way your S5pro worked.

The older 5D is a good FX at a low cost. The D700 being a newer body of course has better features with a higher tag. You have to examine if u need the higher/better specs

see what you need the new camera to do like whether you need 10+ fps?

Can it still do the metering?

Both cameras cannot do more than 10 fps
then simply the 2 highlighted are the wrong camera for the job if looking for such..

however if dont mind 1.6M for continuous 21fps can check out the K20D...around US$700-ish there.

really have to know what is TS requirements???

Can meter. In case you are thinking of cross mount, the ones with an AF confirm chip is pretty useful too.

get the nikon since u already have the s5pro. dun waste money on getting more lenses or an adapter.

Get the Sony A900 better. :bsmilie:

Seriously, I think better to get the D700 since you already have F-mount lenses.

I won't mind getting a 5d if I were you because you'd probably get some new lenses too if you go for the D700?
