Do I need to change the format of music files if I were to change from iPod to other MP3 players? If so, how? :dunno:

No need, unless the music files are not Mp3 format.
What are you planning to change to.

did u rip your music file in apple lossless format? I ripped most of my collection in apple lossless, later to discover that apple lossless not as portable as MP3. eg, my nokia can't play them.

hence, still in a dilemma as to which format to choose. BTW, MP3 @ 320kps is acceptable..

I am not sure what the iPod format is...what I do is just run the cd and let iTunes download it automatically into my pc. So what do I do when I get a new mp3 player - as in, do I need to copy and paste all my current songs from iPod folder into whichever new folder the new mp3 player/program creates?
(Ermm...do I make much sense here?) :embrass:

Thinking of getting a Creative Tech. Not as cool looking, but heard it's more user friendly and much cheaper... Times are bad lah and also must support the 'Buy Singapore' movement.
Any other recommendations?:dunno:

Eh, personally i use Creative before. IMHO, it juz suck. Failed on me aft like 7 or 8 mths. And it was quite a top of the range one back then. Nowdays i use Sony. So far so good. I'm at my 2nd sony arld. Coz i wanted better features. The first one up to now still working.... And the battery life is superb!

Apparantly, i visited best denki some time back and was told by the mp3 sales person there that creative tends to spoilt more easily, sony is much more lasting. FYI, i jus go in see see, alrd got my Sony at that point of time, so nvr buy anything. The sales person juz had a casual chat with me....

As for userfriendly, erm it is very user friendly. actually juz like a Sony ericsson phone the menu. Almost idiot proof one. This only applies to their video music players...
Hope this helps...:)

the itunes default format is ACC.
to convert the files, you can try to download super converter from download.com
the software function as drag and drop style.
