Is it appropriate to put your cameras and lens into a wine fridge? I mean its humidity controlled...

eh how will cold affect the camera badly leh? wine fridge is more of cool lor - 14 - 18 degrees.
i mean u see people in temperate countries keeping their cameras in this kind of temperature right?

low temperature does not affect camera and lens much, however, it will cause condensation once you bring it out to room temperature.
the high humidity level is no good to camera and lenses.
anyway, just do whatever you please............... is your own camera and lenses.

Bro, like what Catchlights say, it will have condensation when its cold. Then when u take the camera out from the chiller, what happen? Water will form bec the air outside is warm, i.e. condensation. There is no dual purpose lah, its stated "Wine Cooler"... nothing to do with cam... so dun take the risk lah. Think of it, its not even a risk, its sucidal!! :bsmilie:
The reason there are dedicated "dry cabinets" and dedicated "wine fridges" is that they both need different climate controls.
However, if you want to test your idea and post a "findings" here, feel free. But I would guess you will destroy your equipment.

the temperature is too low and will cause your gear to have condensation when removed from the fridge.
if ur wine "cooler" is temperature controlled at room temperature, i dun see why not ;p
Haven't you seen water condense on the bottle once you take the wine bottles out that were kept at 14-18 degrees? Do you want that to happen to your lenses?

Dont do that la... wine is wine, camera is camera, just think vice versa, put your wine into camera dry cabinet.. then by sure you will spoilt your wine.. soon or later
