My Tripod Broke

That is why got to buy a real tripod.

This is the free tripod that comes along bundled with the camera package. I very seldom use it. Maybe once or twice when I just bought the camera. Soon after I bought Manfrotto tripod and it went into storage.

Today I set it up and put a SB600 on it, improvising as a flash stand for some Nikon CLS fun. So it comes out again, finally its got some use. Just the SB600 on it, no umbrella softbox no nothing.

But when I am done I was keeping the thing I realised the supporting beam for one of the legs had snapped, the cheap plastic part had snapped like 50 cents mamashop toys of yesteryears. Now its standing on two legs with one leg fractured.

Imagine the 2.8 lens crashing down if the camera was mounted on it...

Then I remember Raymond's sales words when he was packing my purchase while I whipped out the plastic card... 'this is a very good tripod...'

Lucky for u ... good support is a MUST, no 2cts about it or chances are higher that u'll 'pay' more than what u bargained for.

i never trust tripods, unless i absolutely have to, e.g. extremely long exposures over 30 seconds.

else the neck sling stays on my neck, and i do nothing while the exposure is going on. :bsmilie:

Yes I can't agree more......It is a worthwhile Long term investment.......I'm still saving for my Manfrotto Tripod
