Hi

Just would like to check with clubsnappers here whether anyone is using radio poppers (P1) in Singapore?

If so, please enlighten me to the method of shipping it from the US to Singapore, because I saw on their RP online store that only US/Canadian addresses are supported.

I've read some reviews of services like Vpost and Borderlinx. Do they work for such electronics like radios triggers, since I believe pocket wizards are banned?

If you're not sure what a radio popper is, it's a gadget that offers souped up version of wireless ETTL transmitted via radio rather than I/R light for triggering flashes.

Is it just me, or have canon clubsnappers never tried this? :)
 

I have skyports already. I just find the idea of having ETTL and high speed sync a godsend in fast, fluid situations where I rather have ETTL do the heavy lifting on computing flash power. Also, high speed sync is the only way to use wide apertures in daylight situations, which I tried with great results.

And since there's this NPNT thing...

It'll be great to achieve these results with less attention to positioning of the master/slave, and more flexibility to move around outdoors.
 

yea, I'm also very interested in the radio poppers.. it'll definately open up many opportunities of flash placement, just place anywhere, leave it and you're set for shooting..


like for events you don't wanna waste time adjusting flashes and missing moments..
 

I was thinking about getting a few radio poppers for my Canon flashes but the slow response and production, I decided I would be better off with the Skyports instead. Though having ETTL on the fly is really useful for me, I got the hang of manually setting my flash output. If anyone is ordering them, let me know. I might just get one for myself. You know for those days where you just want to 'auto' everything. LOL!

The ST-E2 not an option for you? Not sure how it performs outdoors though since its optically triggered, rather than radio.
 

The ST-E2 is a wimp by itself. Almost useless during outdoor shoots. The Radiopoppers gives the ST-E2 a new life and purpose for those looking for range and reliability. One should seriously consider the Radiopoppers if they are using the ST-E2.
 

I want ETTL, HiSpeed sync and do outdoor strobing. But I am still using the ST-E2.
This radio popper sounds exactly like what i need.

Their new Px version is just about to be launched in US. JrX will be available in US late Feb. 8 weeks after that it will be available for Europe and Australia. It might be a while before you can place order from Singapore unless you have someone getting it for you in the States...
 

With how the thread is going, i hope someone can do an MO of radio triggers. :)
 

How about using Skyports? I've heard it's size is half of Radio Poppers but performs as well and even better... Any ideas where to get Skyports locally here in Singapore?

PS.. sorry for hi-jacking this thread as I also badly need a wireless trigger(radio)..

No idea where to get them, but I'd like the option to ETTL my flashes when I'm lazy or in fast-changing light conditions, so I'll want to order some Radio Poppers instead of PWs or Skyports.

Skyports are basic radio triggers only. They perform quite reliably outdoors (I tested to a distance where you need walkie talkies to communicate with the model). But they have NO ETTL and no High Speed Sync. Try Cathay Photos.

I have the ST-E2 already. It's one of my most used accessories. Like Hazmee says, I want to extend that functionality and usefulness more reliably and to a longer range. Imagine being able to change lighting ratios manually on camera using 580 master! No need to slog back and forth the flashes setup just to change the output!

Their reply to my comment indicate a march international shipping date, however I've sent a new email regarding a mass order!

Lets start a mass order list just in case my request goes through :)

Ah... my email has been forwarded to the operations manager... I'll go bug them this weekend if there's no reply... and maybe still place an order via borderlinx...
 

Oooh im interested as well...but are the Px models available yet?
