Ok, so they have now made it possible to retain your phone no. if you wanna change the service provider. How is this process like and is there a fee?

I wonder, if I were to terminate my line, then later sign up for another provider, can I still retain the previous number? Or it has to be an active plan, .e. sign up for another provider, then terminate the existing plan. :dunno: Not very clear about this.

If you've finished your contract with the current telco, just go to the next telco and just tell them you want to number port.

The telco will do it for you, the last time I did that was a few years ago and had to pay $10.

HTH.

Never terminate first, your current line should be active when you sign up with the new provider. The new provider will terminate your line for you.

No fee or monthly charge required.

If I am not mistaken, starting June of last year, it's already the real thing (number retention).

In the case of Starhub, gotta pay S$10 for number retention. My wife's on M1 and I wanted to have her number moved over to Starhub.

So if I terminate my contract, later when I sign up for a new contract, I cannot get back my number already?

I think Wuffy terminate her line liao! :bsmilie:

No lah... u can still call me...
I'm just thinking if I want to terminate this line then how...
terminate then the number will be "lost"... gu huen ye gui...

will be put to wheel on re-incarnation... :D

I just did this a few months back. I was a M1 user with number 123. I had a StarHub line with number 456. When my M1 contract expired, I ported 123 to StarHub and terminated the M1 line.
There were no charges incurred.

Confirm there should no longer be any charges incur on the consumers. IDA ruling. if they did otherwise, then they will be screwed by IDA (i think)
I did an inquiry the other week, and was quoted a number retention fee of S$10 by Starhub.

:Later,
