the 100% crop is actually crop without resizing, eg if you show an area 100 pixel by 100 pixel at 100% crop, just make a marquee of 100pixel by 100pixel, select the area of the image you want, hit ctrl C to copy, and ctrl N to create new doc, ctrl V to paste the selection into new doc, now that the new doc with 100% crop of the area images you want.

to draw box on the area you taken from, just keep the marquee selection remind at the same spot, then from put down manual, select Edit/Stroke/, fill in the option you want, hit enter, you will have the marquee selection become a box with outline.

to select the same spot at different doc (image files), you have to make sure all doc images size are the same, just simply drag the marquee selection from the master doc to the next doc image area, once you mouse is on the next doc, do not let go your mouse click now, press shift key and let go your mouse, the marquee selection will be at the same coordinate as the master doc.

Hope this help.

By default, the new file will have the dimensions of the image sample copied in memory. If you make the new file 1000 by 1000 then paste, you'll have a very big white canvas with a small square of image in the middle.

Actually, why don't you just TRY IT instead of asking? It would have taken you 6-8 mouse clicks to test what you just asked.

if you make a selection the image area with marquee of 150pixel by 150pixel, hit ctrl C, ctrl N, the new doc size will be 150x150

if you create a new doc is 1000 x 1000, pasting a 150x150 into it, the selection will still be 150x150, and only occupied a small area of the whole doc, you can't enlarge the size 150x150, if you do, than selection is no longer 100%.
