Bad signs at a happy occasion? 26th Jan

On January 26th two significant events will happen.:
1. The end of the rat year and in comes the Ox year.
2. An annular solar eclipse lasting a grand total of 7m54s will happen.

Is this an ominous sign for more bad times?

Financially, they say we have seen the worst of the crisis in the final quarter of 2008 and everything should start looking up (as long as we spend and the banks allow money to be borrowed)

Historically many cultures saw eclipses as signs for bad times ahead.

In Chinese mythology, a celestial dragon is devouring the sun and so the people used to bang drums, pots or anything that made a loud sound to frighten the dragon away.

In the third series of heroes, all the heroes lost their powers.

What do you think will happen?
 

don't think we've seen the worst yet. things are going to get much more hairy after CNY.

the most optimistic scenario is a rapid V shaped rebound in 2010, postulated by some smart chappies over at BNP .

dun worri... Sg only partial...

dragon wan to devour the Rat... but suddenly rat becomes Ox... kenna stuck in Dragon's throat wif horns poking through dragon's nose... so no choice but to spit Ox out... Ox safe. :cool:

Humans are humans, they created beliefs and one cow follow the next
cow and thus the chaos.

Even the thunder that brought down a branch of a tree or even a whole
tree is seen as God doing something bad to mankind. So the tree was
the object of worship. Today man's mind is smarter with the help of science.

You think the stories behind the eclipse are true when one can calculate
and measure the exact date, duration and time of the event?

Bad times, good times are all created by intelligent humans
to create selfish graving for themselves. Who are the victims?

It's the rest of the people who so easily believe in those few
smart and clever story telling people.

The solution:
Go and do your normal things and expand your activities and thoughts.
If one cow follow the next cow to go inside the water, then.....:nono:

.....don't know about the smart chappies in BNP....depends on how they want us to perceive the market. Fanny and Mae screwed us by making us (the world) believe they had a good product.

So is it more a U shaped, we stay at rock bottom for awhile? The more realistic scenario.....a very wobbly W shaped rebound?

we haven't hit rock bottom yet....massive job losses are on the way, starting again with the US.

but then again, i'm a pessimist.

you tink them car manufacturers are on the edge of the cliff..... hanging on a little longer so they can screw the govt for more good hand outs. A leopard dun change its spots....and well the CEOs came flying into Washington to put out their hand......I think they all deserve a bonus for that.....
