Any cheap ways to remove scratches on LCD?

My friend is complaining his new PNS camera LCD got scratches after he purchase the LCD protector film.

Any great DIY proven ways that can remove LCD scratch? I heard about using toothpaste but I seriously doubt that it works.

anyways, Martin Fields. Proven Good for PSP so is confirmed good for camera but thats my opinion.

You mean the Martin Fields thingy able to remove the scratches on your PSP?

Not remove..prevent. But a bit on the higher side if compare to the cheaper grade psp lcd protector but less heart pain when case like this happened.

You may want to use Polywatch Scratch Remove. It costs about $10 or less. I use it all the time to remove fine scratches on my watches. Perhaps LCD work on the same principle.

Oh.. It's a screen protector. For a moment i thought is a scratch removal product.

Have to agree that once the lcd screen is scratched, its almost impossible to remove.

I tried that method on a IPOD... it did not work... and got worse......

The toothpaste method doesnt really works. Cos its actually fine particles causing abrasion to smoothen out the surface. it might worsen the screen.

I am also confuse. Is the screen scratched or the screen protector. If the screen is finely scratched. Juz paste over a piece of screen protector. It will mask up the scratches. If the screen protector is scrached. Replace with another 1.

so are the scratches on the protector film or LCD?

either

a) user never put on the lcd protector usually given free.

b) user thought the better grade lcd protector was as unecessary expense.

c) user did not even buy a cheap lcd protector.

hopefully its on the lcd protector thus scratch on the lcd is minimized/

He can always try using those scratch removal creams for CDs. Or even use car polish creams. Just have to be careful not to let the cream get into the groove between the lcd screen and the camera body.

Funny, all the 3 DSLRs I have do not have LCD protectors and till now not even a scratch. How did you all use your DSLR to get scratch even with LCD protectors? :dunno:

Sorry for not explaining clearly.

He bought the screen protector but the scratched the screen before he apply on it....
Now he panic and left his camera with me to help him fix. lol
Condition is quite bad. He is very excite about shooting that evening when he got the cam and I believe his BELT meta pieces scratch the screen when we are walking and he hang his cam via lanyard.

Here is the condition: to me it is quite bad...

He is very excited about shooting that evening when he got the cam and I believe his BELT metal pieces scratch the screen when we are walking and he hang his cam to himself via lanyard.
Never mind the other white particles, it may be my S5 IS lens dirty, or the LCD covered with dust.

Interesting idea... have you tried it personally before?

I use CD scratch removal creams all the time on my CDs & DVDs. Before that, I have used those polymer-based car polish creams on my CDs and DVDs. Both will remove fine scratches and make the CDs/DVDs look brand new. I have never scratch my LCD screens though as I always protect them with screen protectors but as the LCD screens are made of plastic just like CDs, there's no reason why the creams don't work on them.

The scratches on the TS's LCD screen seems quite bad though. He may have to use the scratch removal cream many times to get rid of those scratches.
