Nice shots of the 12 Apostles (think only 8 are still standing). I never had a chance to shoot them in good light the 2 times I've been there.

There's a S'pore Dr working in Lorne where I'm sure you stopped along the way to see the 12 Apostles. :)

brilliant! esp the photo of lord arch gorge :thumbsup:

err... i think it is Loch Arch Gorge

good shots. i didn't manage to capture a beautiful sunset, but got a very gloomy sky instead :(. and... it even hailed when i was there -- hid in the car for shelter

My oh my.. The 12 Apostles photos are simply mind-blowing..

oh, you are so lucky!

i love huge rocks. :(

nice photos, as always! :)

really awesome shot for the twelve apostles, love the colors, the sharpness, the details.
its just so enjoyable to look at.
Thanks for sharing:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow those are great shots, what lens is that? Big difference from my kit lens :D

The second last one doesn't look as vibrant as I thought it would be. Here's my version :

wow! brilliant captures!!! :)

i have seen a couple of apostle shots in the forum, and i think you got the best lighting so far. just right. not extremely dramatic but very very comfortable.

q: i figure that the vantage would be limited for safety reasons obviously. but can i reaffirm with you that it is impossible to have a lower vantage with the apostles jutting above the horizon?

hi.
pretty shots! makes me drool for shots like this.
was there any GND used?

Just addded one more - the razorback.

All the landscapes shots were taken either using a cokin (P) 120, 121 ND Grad filter or a combo.

As the dynamic range of the subjects were really very wide, minor post processing (Dodge/Burn/Layer Screen) were done where applicable.

Hi MrSAMO,

I used the Sigma 10-20 for the shots as I like Sigma's warmth for such sunsets. The intensity of the sun on the Loch Ard shot wasn't that vibrant as the sun was blocked by the clouds. I have a couple of shots when the sun is unblocked but the intensity is too great and the shdows are too shap on the top portion as the sun is too low then.

rgds,
Sulhan

I see, not saying that mine is better (yours is heaps better), just with a bit of lighting like in mine you might have gotten a great shot too.

I went yesterday, see how the photos turned out with my new lenses :)

Great stuff.... I wouldn't even have known of such formations in Australia if not for your photos and comments from the other people.

Great series.

Not been there and never thought of goin but the your pix
change it all. It will be my next vacation.
