Hi Im a newbie and is just wondering what would be the best set up or combo lenses for me.
I like street photography and landscapes. right now I only have the AFS- DX VR zoom 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED.

Question is what would be the best combo or set up with my existing lens

Thanks all for your advices

there is no "best" setup or combi for camera settings,
it all depends on your requirements and expectations.
your lens 18-200 is a wonderful multi-purpose lens which serves every needs... from closeup shots to wide angle shots...

you may wish to play around with your lens first before deciding on what kind of lens preference you looking for... and try various settings with your camera first... it is best if you try to master your camera functions before you decides on what you need

hope my humble opinion is sufficient... dear bros of CS may give him a better and clearer advise as i'm still an amateur :bsmilie:

u just keep using ur 18-200 first, and then your answer will slowly emerge.

Welcome to the wonderful world of photography.

I would like to invite you to read post #189 first at http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149076&page=10

It will help you to find you a proper path into this hobby, and prevent you from hopefully blowing a hole in your pocket.

Thanks for all the advices. I'll try and explore more with my existing lens... by the way one more question.

spend within your budget ;) economy is bad...
maybe you should try playing with your camera and default flash first,
till you feel your default flash unable to meet your demands than you can begin seeking the flash unit you need ;)

my 10 cents worth of opinion

Flash!! ;) the effect is totally different from the harsh built in flash...
but of cos spend only if u have the $$... else just KIV 1st... if possible get SB800, it's easier to use than the SB600.

Btw ur VG refers to the batter holder MB-80 (or something like tat rite). IMHO, that is almost useless since u mention u like street and landscapes. if u are talking abt battery life than i think the EN-EL3 battery is more than enuff for 1 day of photography.

but of cos the bottomline is "Buy within ur means" la dun waste $$ buying just because others say it's good.

If you are taking alot of event shooting, the SB800 would be a better choice, for portrait shooting SB600 as it is lighter... :)
