Just wanna know what photo size y'all usually give and the whynots. Thanks in advance!

i suppose that's the norm :) btw, how much 8R would you give in a package?

Can I ask what is the resolution (soft-copy) do you usually give the couple?

you can't actually choose the dpi right? standard is 300 dpi?

Hmm... thanx.. :)

Curious in that case, you normally don't give the couple the full-size photo (12MP) right?

Theoretically, cramping 12mp into a 4R seemed a lil extreme don't you think? Ask an expert, it's too technical for me to explain:p

for ROMM package i give 18R only, for sanding / nikah+sanding in a day package, i give 28R.

my photog services are under more for the "lower budget" couples, so to speak. you want that price, caaaaaan, i give you only some things only. fair enough right :what:

I understand... but I was wondering should I use the original resolution (12MP) when I do touch-up, coz it would slow down the DI process. If I don't give them need to give them the originals, I might as well resize it before my DI.... Any thoughts?

For touch up it is better to use the original file since the pic will be bigger at full size and it will be easier to edit the photo this way. I'm assuming u mean removing the pimples, marks on her face, skin etc when you are referring to touch up.

I understand what you mean. For me... it would be easier to edit/enhance the resize file ...I was seeing some of my friends wedding shots... it seem the photographer either did not shoot at the highest-res (based on EXIF) or they also resize the photo afterward...

Anson, thanks for the active participation. It really depends on the editor's skills if it were to be done personally otherwise just "tan chiak" by the shop uncle with $ involved. At 6 or 12mp, flaws are hardly discernible @ 4R for minor flaws, theoretically speaking.;) cheers :)

some low end wedding day photography package, like the 300 pieces 4R photos with album, which offered by old school photographers.

The photographers are not shooting at RAW, or full resolution jpg, the main reason is customers won't be printing other size prints beside 4R, occasionally only one or two pieces of 8R.

so usually giving med size jpg to customers, beside, the photographers just send the images straight to the labs for printing, without any post production.

Bear in mind that they nail the WB and exposure during the shoot, so don't have to spend time to post processing, and also don't offer touchup on images, hense, the photographers able to spend more time shooting more assignment, and their packages are very low price too.

Thanks guys for the tip... Coz with my changing of cameras (ever increasing of MP). I find it harder & slower for post-editing (unless I invest on a new computer).... :(

Haha! Anything slower than a Pentium 4 will leave you crippled with all that RAW processing.

ANyway, guys do share your views on wedding photo sizes! i wanna know if you guys ever make a mixture of maybe 5R and 4R in a sticky album? :sweatsm:

Hi,,

Refer to 5R or 4R photo... how many MP is it..

Thanks..

@300dpi, 4R is 1200pixel by 1800 pixel, 1200x1800=2,160,000 so is 2.1MP

for 5R is 1500pixel by 2100pixel.......... do the math yourself!

Thanks... that mean if I give a 6MP photo it is more than enough for the couple to do a normal print... :)
