I haven't printed for a long time and previously they only accepted CDs of photos.

Do they accept USB thumbdrives nowadays?

Thanks!

Also, any 15c for 4R offers anywhere?

Thanks!

Yes, they do accept thumbdrives. But I'm not sure if there's any $0.15 printings around anymore. The last I printed at $0.15 per copy is at Konica Minolta at Chinatown Point, this was like almost a year ago already.

they now accept a wide range of medias, CD (not sure abt DVD), thumbdrive, memory cards (not sure abt CF cos i dun use that), hard disc.

yes. i believe the chinatown point one still have $0.15 per piece for 100 pieces and above.

saw their ads on papers occasionally.

ooh, can share the shop name please? and is the lab good?

most digilabs self help kiosks accept all common used storage device, CF cards, SD cards etc, have USB port, you can use thumbdrive or portable HD, also have CD and DVD drive for you to use CD or DVD, most kioks also have blue tooth, so customers able to print images stright from their mobile phone.

If I am not wrong, some printing shops don't... I remember trying to bring an image on a thumbdrive that I need to print on Cups... But they say they only accept CDs or media cards... :(

From what I heard by using thumbdrive, it can get spoilt easily as there might be possibility that the person handling the picture transfer may not safe eject the thumbdrive correctly. There's a risk there.

15 cents is pushing it la. those will be using china chemicals and paper. as 15 cents is near to impossible for the kodak/fuji labs due to cost. For Kodak labs, the Noritsu CT kiosk machines would accept thumbdrives. the older machines cannot view by folder though so take note of that.

Most photolabs have thumbdrive access.. but have limitations like what chanxj mentioned.
I even encountered one that had a virus transfered to my thumbdrive so be careful if you are running on a PC with no antivirus..

Won't the virus transfer to any media, such as SD or CF Cards too?

I always keep an old thumbdrive aside just for printing purposes. Scan and wipe after you're done.

For SD cards, you can prevent write access by pushing the lock on the card.. but thumbdrive is open.
I also use an old thumbdrive instead of my regular work thumbdrive, just in case..

Yup. Viruses are such nuisances. I've printed twice using my thumbdrive, and on both ocassions kena viruses. Just burn the CD or use the SD cards that can disable write onto it. It'll be safer that way. :bsmilie:

thanks for the tips guys!

15c not good, then how about 20c printing?
seems like most shops now charge 25c or more

Ah! Forgot about that! Thanks!

Sorry to interrupt, but does anyone know and can recommend a printing shop with good quality prints that accept USB.

ColourLab at Adelphi (opposite Funan).
