Is there any reason that one could not take (and post) photographs of Military Aircraft (inc. Helicopters) as they fly over the skies of Singapore?

I am not talking about those on restricted land (ie: bases) or those involved in Airshows, but those just on general patrol loops and over public land?

No issues...

some people may ask you to get the model release from the pilots,
some people may tell you must ensure the pilots is above legal age,
some people tell you as long you stand at public ground is fine,
some people will tell you can not show the logos of the aircrafts........

so best is to consult all our in house, known or not known, lawyers.

If there were any issues about that then CS and many other sites would have brought down already by the government. Around NDP and other occasions thousands of pics are taken even at close distance (when more details can be seen) and posted in Internet.
I remember an occasion when I was in the army (not the Singaporean army) and we wanted to take pictures of us with cars inside the camp. Our commander just replied "Guys, those vehicles have been seen and photographed countless times when they were outside on the road. Your pictures won't make any difference."

i believe we have a bunch of CSers who are 'plane spotters' (there's an international site devoted to airplane pics.. can't remember the url). it's not illegal unless (a) u sneak into the RSAF base to shoot, or (b) it is a classified plane...

or outdated vehicles that are too embarassing to international community if known that they are still in used by "modern" army.

Thanks. Nice to know it's, ok.

If I could do (a) I would be like a ninja/spy...and I am not :( haha
Does Singapore have any of (b)?

hahahaha...But bi-planes are cool technology, no computers to worry about EMP, nice and slow for tight turns, and not metallic or hot enough for a good lock.

Even if it's classified.... u can't hide them forever. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

Anyway, not easy to recognise either. Unless you have some knowledge of wat to look for.

Its www.airliners.net ;) Anyways, those flying around in our airspace/international airspace are not a problem, since its pretty known which country carries which aircrafts. The only secret things about the aircrafts are their equipment/technology that can be hardware or software related.

We won't know since it's Classified :)

There always are stuff... only after a while, will they de-classify it and release to the public...

(b) would have some cloaking device, so you won't be able to see them nor your camera able to obtain an AF lock on them, so how to shoot, right? ;p
