Just a quick one, which DSLR is top-notch when it comes to dynamic range?

Here's a quick reply; Fuji S5 Pro :)

Nikon D3

Using Active D-Lighting for Nikon DSLRs, seems ' increase ' the dynamic range abit.

D lighting is just a processing from the RAW file. There is still no extra increase in DR info in the initial data captured per se

Fuji S5pro is the more affordable better option. The RED DSMC is suppose to have a great dynamic range dunno how they compare.

Fuji s5 pro has a very big dynamic range:)

a350 has good dynamic range

ya lah. without a doubt is the s3pro and s5pro. If you want cheap and very good DR, grab a 2nd hand s3pro.

The s3pro beats like all other cameras which cost like many times more expensive.

Too bad only 6megapixel, not enough for any serious use.

really... how did u arrive at this conclusion?

ok lah, his definition of serious is different from yours.

Some people do need to print BIG. the drawback (in terms of image quality) of the s3pro/s5pro is really their resolution. Fujifilm decides to sacrifice precious sensor space for those pixels to capture highlights. U gain some, u lose some.

But I have printed out A3+ size prints from my s3pro and they look quite sharp/detailed even when I view it from like 5 cm away.

The cameras with the max dynamic range are: A900, D90, S5Pro, S3Pro, D3 and D300.

DPReview lists the A900 as having the highest DR though, at 12.6 stops.

which part of the review they say this? i only see where they say its 9.5+? i know a350 is 9.1

really...

i'm sure there will be lots of people who have BTDT will disagree with u... so let's just leave it at here.

well, maybe he needs a $30K+++ digital back to get that billboard which i only need one S5pro and a good lens to do that. he's loaded i guess.:embrass:

Theres also the cropping ability etc etc , i could go on . But anyways its whole different debate , so lets not get there.
