Which lens should I bring for D&D

I am using CANON 450D, and I have kit lens EF-S18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS,
and another 50mm f1.8 lens.

If I only choose one to bring to my D&D event, which should I bring?
(Just for my personal collection, and we have pro-camera man to take photo as well)

I think I will take those close up portrait, and group portrait up to 6 person.

Please give me advice. :lovegrin:

Your 18-55 will do actually....just bring a flash with the power to be as bright as the sun. Might also want to read up on strobing.

hmm...actually I prefer to use 50mm..good for low light with dat nice bokeh.

as for group portrait, zoom with ur feet..

For D&D, the main photos you gonna take is candids and group shots which has no need for bokeh. You also need to be able to zoom as you might need to stand aside to prevent from blocking others. You kit lens with an external flash will do but 501.8 is so light, might as well bring both.

i like to keep the atmosphere, so I never use flash to take picture.

built in flash will also do. but external flash would help a lot.

if the flash is too harsh or not bright enough, you can adjust the flash ev.

It may look bright to u but not to the camera when taking a correct exposure pic.
Built in flash usually gives very bad shadow in the pic.
External flash can do a celling bounce which makes the pic looks much :thumbsup:

Take only beautiful girls and VIP potraits.

You will impress yourself more with nice personal potrait rather than group photo.

You think the fellow is paying the D&D for photoshoot har ? Impress the girls.... :bsmilie: If you don't get a group of them with crystal sharp images under that kind of low lighting, I think the only girl you will be impressing is probably your granny with a falling eye sight whom cannot differentiate between a sharp image and a blur one. :bsmilie::bsmilie:
