Someone notified me that some of my images were leeched, nothing that surprises me.

However, while investigating how bad the problem I am facing is, I ran across many familiar images that belongs to many different photographers her on CS.

Here is the link to the offending thread on sammy.

Majority of the offending posts/leaching were done by someone the nick john_hougang on sammyboy. Majority of his leaching activities were posted recently, and can be found on page 30-40 of the above referenced link.

I love to have a private taljk with this joker. If anyone knows him, please PM me.

By the way, he host the images on a site called www.uploadhouse.com

I fully understand that it is impossible to protect our images once they are posted online. However, when we see blatant leeching and infringement of copyrights, we nonetheless cannot stand side and pretend nothing has happened.

An account is required to see those pages.

Btw, message to the models. I am not going to list them here, but it's a who's who's on CS. Can't remember all their names, but, many are familiar faces here.

The joker has hosted the leeched images on the uploadhouse site. The site had been extremely helpful in removing the leeched images. 2 hours after I submitted my complaint.

Because I have no idea until someone told me about it. duh :)

i propose to mitigate this issue, what we could do is to

a. disable right click function on CS
b. Limit photosize to abate the effectiveness of print screen

recently a net friend told me his blog photos were been uploaded into the SGGIRLS and the uploaded added his blog link to the upload info....up till now my net friend does not know who sabotage him..........he is like %$#@%#% but well welcome to the internet where we cant really control Intellectual property.

Unfortunately, they will probably just view source or view image properties, get the original link, and do it. Plus most photographers will prolly find downsizing of fotos when uploading a bit bothersome.

Sigh...

dun leave the pic's "permanently" online lah...

Post for show / critique... a couple of days, when thread interest slow down... remove pics...

Or if u wan to, change the pic to add HUGE watermarking loh... especially if your watermarking crosses those "target" area I'm sure the pic would not be attractive for these leeches... unless they really despo

The only real way to prevent despo leeching is to dun upload in the first place.

Hi there DP,

Good of you to make this known.

Ok, this has happened often before. But we all need to be reminded and informed of such act's.

It is such a shame that the website "sammyboy's" even exists.

I am no prude and appreciate the beauty of the female form, but the site is quite OFF.

StarAlliance, you too can keep us aware of such rip off's if you wish also :)

Thanks again DP

Hi DP (and all else),

Was just thinking about the problem of how to stop leeching.

I am not a computer-net guru or nerd and as such this thought will most likely have many holes and cause LOL's...

As photo's are stored on a drive in a server at CS, can the program that runs what happens via the CS server, controll what access is given to photo's stored there ?.

In simple form .... photo's uploaded and inserted into what ever forum are at low resolution (just enough).

If a viewer clicks on the photo to see a higher resolution, the server checks the database to see if the person is a registered member before releasing it.

Any member that accesses photo's in high resolution is logged.

I apologise if this is a wastefull thought :)

Cheers :)

I informed brother Phoa about it....guess it got out to the correct persons....

while Pablo's idea is good....there might be a simple obstacle of costs.......but its a good idea
