Hi photography experts,

A noob question. If I've an EFS10-22mm, can I use the lens hood and circular polarizer together at the same time?

Thanks!!!

Correct me if I am wrong but CPL work best with bright sunny day and lights from the sun is best when subject is front of you while the sun is to either the left or right of you. So if you see it this way...won't your hood be blocking out the light from the place where they should be coming in? I have a CPL but have not really use it much. :dunno:

Hmm I think the CPL reduces the reflections from the objects you wish to take . For eg. reflections on water , reflections on building and it saturates the color of the picture. Which is very useful for landscapes.

The purpose of the lens hood is to reduce excessive light from entering in the the lens which causes flares and also , to act as a protection should u drop ur camera or lens ( Choy ! )

So I think there should be no conflict ? :)

And if you asking about the physical obstruction, i think there should be any , as the CPL is screw onto the lens thread while the Hood is locked at the outer rim of the lens. If you have a step up ring , maybe might have some obstruction , but I cannot confirm on that :)

Difficult to turn the CPL ring, that's all. They serve different purposes.
