Anyone going for the marathon to take some photos?
Do you know if you need to register to have access just to take some shots?

Cross by foot should be okay I guess, even when the road is closed, except near the finish line :dunno:

the starting point? the middle portion (maybe near the water point) or the finishing point?

There are water points every 1.5km along the 42km route, and they would offer many shooting opportunities.

The whole stretch of East Coast (Fort Road - Sailing Centre) will have lots of families and friends cheering on. However, transport to this area would be difficult.

The Kallang and Lavendar MRT stations are closest to the 42km route, and that is the last 6km where many participants could have hit the wall. Good stretch to catch cramps and faints, especially if weather is harsh.

The Mountbatten-Fort Road and Crawford-Republic junctions are where the 21km and 42km participants merge. These spots could offer opportunities to catch lots of faces in agony.

Anderson Bridge may offer opportunities to shoot participants doing the last 500m with the Esplanade as backdrop.

Finally, please give way to the participants and volunteers.

Have fun guys.
I will be shooting.
This will be the first marathon since 1993 that I am missing.
Remember to drink at water points, but again not to overdo it.
Do not wait till you are totally dehydrated before putting in water or 100 plus.
Most importantly, let those guys rush off at the start, do not follow them.
The power gel you get at East Coast will also be good.
Take care and go for a strong finish.
Even though I do know you folks, I will still say this, SEE YOU ALL AT THE FINISHING LINE, and remember to look good for the photographers.
