When we were young, when we had nothing better to do, we were encouraged to collect items which are educational, potentially valuable, etc. As such, many of us were collecting stamps, coins, toys, cards, and also things like Garbage kids, McD toys, etc....

Of course, when we grew up, and society changed, we could afford to collect cars, apartments, country clubs, credit cards, paintings, camera (of course there are ppl who collect lens caps, red high heels, and bikini ) etc....

Now, 10, 20 years later, what do you see in your collection?....
Are all these physical things mean a lot to you now, and to whoever you pass on when you are gone, important and meaningful?

Besides financial gains, do you still advise others to take collecting items as a hobby?

Only if they have re-sale value

is not throwing items away considered collecting them alternatively? :bsmilie:

i'm a garang guni wannabe soon..maybe i collect dust the most :bsmilie:

no point tho....unless u talking about paintings/sculptures by renown artists etc....most items upon purchased will get their value shaved off at least 20%...

Eh.... wat about those collectible comic books?

Value actually went by by a few hundred or even thousand percent..

angmo ones got value.....china-related ones got none..

I still have my Mah Weng Cheng - Zhong Huw Ying Shiong (HK version) issue one until someoneelse take over one.....all collecting dust liao

and in relations to the 100,000 lingerie shots...maybe it will have value in 20years time....after collecting all those dusts and other particles on the toilet/bedroom walls....

Used to collect action figures like spawn, battery operated zoids, comics. These items bring me memories which I did not enjoy during my young age. I came from a strict family which education is the first priority. Now their selling values are higher than the price I bought. Do earn a lot on selling these items especially those items which are rare and unique.

Now currently collecting armour core. Got the full series of it. Enjoy build the figures from scratched. :)

Are you selling and trading them now?

I have I believe at least a few thousands of "MAGIC" cards ..... where do I trade them now? But first I need to look for them, somewhere, somewhere around .....

Selling them. :)

I am not sure of "Magic" cards, but the common know place for tradings will be at a building at Chinatown. I forgot what is it name, but know it is near the China Square. The trading normally on Sunday. Another areas you may like to look into is the Sunshine plaza.

Hoarding is a form of mental illness, probably a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
