Leica....

do you mean Fully Mechanical instead?

if so, the answer is obvious...

Fully mechanical=no battery need. which is not possible in digital as all electronics need power. :)

maybe some day people will come up with a camera that doesn't need batteries

you just have to pump hard at a handheld dynamo while taking the photograph

When the day come.... the "anti shake" system must have improve to eliminate the shakes from all the pumping..... :bsmilie:

Or you could carry a huge hamster wheel around with you at all times

I think that would make for a better sight for bystanders

most DSLR can switch to manual exposure mode and do manual focusing..

IF READY do have a fully manual exposure mode and manual focusing only DSLR, it will be very expensive, since not much people will want it, in the end you may not want to buy it too.

Full manual controls = There are many cameras, both DSLR and prosumer, that offer full manual controls.

If you mean full mechanical, then no, because the digital components require a power source.

thanks for all the advice.
I thought there will be a camera like FM2 in digital where its manual and the battery is only for the capturing of digital image and the rest is mechanical where it will not involve batteries.

Is there any model or brand on this?

Nope. All use the battery to power the shutter, LCD screen, Sensor and the whole motherboard for processing. Also, the FM2 used batteries for the light metering too.

who will want such a handicap DSLR?? can't have AF focus, can't have Auto exposure, can't have P mode.. and worst, don't have LCD display..

anyway, as many other already said, many normal DSLR able to shoot in fully manual mode, such "fully mechanical digital" camera is redundant.

I'm not sure what's available in this market segment, but you may be lucky and find what you want with a medium format SLR + electronic back.
