hey guys,
i just bought a new D90. pretty excited about it but there is one concern that i have. i bought it for like 1.7k which is the kit set that comes with a 18-55mm lens. the guy told me that nikon comes with 2 kinda sets, and the other one is the one with 18-105mm lens. so im not sure if he is telling me the truth? anyone has any idea if this is true? or did i just get conned?

isn't it supposed to come with just the 18-105mm kit instead ?
with this kit set isn't it around 1600 plus with gst ?

it comes with 18-105...
i tihnk he throwing u left over of 18-55VR lol...
btw 18-55VR is cheaper than 18-105 lens.

Nikon D90 Kit (18-105mm VR) - $1650 (Lord's, Oct08 - mojoe) free 4GB | $1690 (TK, Oct08 - mojoe) | $1600 (w/o GST, Parisilk, Oct08 - mojoe) free 4GB | $1799 (Mustafa, Oct08 - sanjangr) | $1658 (CP, Nov08 - skyeleven) free 4GB

You just got conned, but there is nothing you can do, but learn your lesson - next time, do your homework before heading out to make your purchase.

which store did you buy from got recipe go find that person if he says he gave you 18-105mm you say got take picture either change or call police he'll 101% change it ^^

which shop is it care to share. should be 18-105mm

Why didn't you visit the Nikon website first, before buying?

Most likely you just got conned.

The D90 set should come with D90 + 18-105mm VR lens. And it should cost around 1.6k - 1.7k.

The 18-55mm lens is cheaper than 18-105mm. You can report this to CASE if you want. Or ask Nikon.

Why do people always plonk down their money *before* doing research, then come here to check if they got a good deal? Why not do your research first, especially for such a huge investment?

please share which shop you got from. so others can avoid making same mistake.

imo, you better go back there and find the salesman and demand a change of lens to 18-105mm.
18-55mm is kit lens for Nikon D60.

If TS shared or not, you know what? I'd still go there regardless of their dishonesty if they offer me a good prices for equipment i may want to buy

As for demanding...i don't think it works that way...

To TS: Please do adequate research in the future :)

First off, it's receipt. You're not cooking anything here, no place for recipes. You also cannot demand an exchange because both parties, the shop and the customer, agreed on the terms of sale.

If TS shared or not, you know what? I'd still go there irregardless of their dishonesty if they offer me a good prices for equipment i may want to buy ...

It's "regardless". There is no "irregardless" because "regardless" already refers to a lack of regard for something.

wah, i'm going back to school again after 5 yrs ... :bsmilie:

TS, tell me which shop peace

so that we all be warned

your purchase price below $3000/- -- so u can 'complain' to CASE

u may not get back anything but at least CASE 'may' keep the vendor in check

Grammar Nazi Alert!

ok, honestly, thanks for pointing out the mistake :bsmilie: Better now than never

hey guys, thank u for replying first of all. i bought it at a shop in penin plaza. i did my research and went all over to look for the best price. that shop gave me the best one. when i went to buy he said that it comes with a 18-55 mm lens. so i didnt know better and bought it still.
i am going back there today to see if i can change it.. fingers crossed.

Most importantly, report the shop to Nikon. If it's a "Nikon authorized store" you might actually be able to get Nikon to give you the proper lens... If Nikon's service is up to par.

yeah i bought it for 1700 with bag, filter and cleaning kit

OH NO!!!!

There's a difference between "research" and "canvassing for best price". You did the latter, not the former. If you did the former, you would:

1. Know what the correct lens is and the correct price for the set
2. Know to avoid most shops in Peninsula Plaza
3. Know which shops to frequent.

So really, you did NOT do your research.
