This is nice, but it looks like an off cam cord has to be attached for it to work. I'd prefer it to be like the rayflash lol that way you have both hands free instead of one. But thats just me.
The problem with Rayflash is that a given model only works with a given camera.... the model for Canon's XXD model won't work with a Canon XXXD camera. Any upgrade, and you risk the Rayflash not able to fit......
Anyone know where i can get the rayflash and how much it would cost?
Thanks.
The Orbis isn't cheap either, retailing at a 169 USD. It's tempting though, I'll let our CS friends get some first to see if it's good.

OT abit..... :embrass:
When I was thinking of getting myself Canon's MR 14EX Macrolite.... I was told that the Ringflash will only works with Canon's own Macro Lense.... there are a groove infornt of each lens where the Macrolite sits.
But one ClubSNAP-er did point out that Canon do sell an adapter that you could mount infornt of some other Non-Macro lens.... that would enable the Macrolite to be mounted on.... is that true ??? And what is the name/model number of this adapter ??
Was thinking of using the Macrolite on my EF 50mm f1.4 or lense like EF 85mm f1.8 :bsmilie:
Anyone got any idea whats the name/model number of the adapter..... or if it even available ??
Hmm, its kind of disappointing that the obis does not give a full ring effect.....but some of the sample pics looks like a full ring...hmm
This may be a specific issue with Canon ... but from what I understand all macro lights should be able to fit in front of the lens using the lens thread on the front of the lens ... like a filter ... By using a step-up or step-down adaptor ... you can fit it to varios size lenses ... (limited by the size of the flash).
I was thinking of getting one of these macro lights for portrait shoots ... but realised that the light spread was too narrow and would be difficult to cover even half body ... :embrass:
