Any Ball watch aficionados in CS?

These are really nice watches. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever own one this lifetime!

Personally though, my object of desire would be a Graham watch.

Hmm. One can only dream...

Yup. Ball watches has a unique, yet niche pedigree. Status wise, might not be in the same league as brand like Omega. But, still affordable if I buy less lenses and cameras. Haha!

Ball watches are not bad. American design with Swiss mechanism. Specialty is the microgas lights for illumination and is anti-magnetic as well. The Diver TMT series is really nice.... comes with a thermometer as a complication. Haha.....

If you like Ball, take a look at Oris as well.

Personally, I like Panerai. Recently, brands like Sinn and U-Boat are becoming more popular.... and still at a lower price point....

cheaper than Omega lah.

anyway some models of Ball are not available here.
unique features as mentioned are the Tritium tubes & the anti-magnetic thingy

Sinn watches remind me of Bell&Ross...very instrument-like...and very scientific. But definitely not cheap, especially Bell&Ross.

I'm using one. The most basic one I think. Got it at just below 1K

Which model is that? Engineer II Classic? Ohio? Those are simple and nice! Am thinking of getting the Engineer II Classic or the Engineer Master II Moon Glow.

Yeah, the madness we pay for a lump of metal...... that tells time.....

Individual's preference. :) It's a luxury to own a piece of fine craftsmanship. As long as it's within one's reach, I think it's alright.

the new diver GMT is pretty sweet. they are pretty decent everyday watches imo..

microcosm is definitely one ;)

Yup... owned the Engineer Master II Diver (Grey) for two years now and it has been a very reliable watch. The anti-magnetic mechanism was one of the main draw for me. One of the best buys and a very reliable daily wearing watches of mine.

microcosm, may I know why is the Anti-Magnetic feature the main draw for you? I am a noob in watches, hence do not know this feature. Is it supposed to maintain the accuracy better?

TIA for replies. :)

I am a touring sound engineer by professional and am surrounded by massive speaker clusters at work and the amount of magnetism from the speaker magnets ruin watches without protection. That is why the feature on the Ball Watch was an important feature for me.

Do those same magnets, screw with your cell phone or other electronic gadgets?
