I was using a flash bracket so i attached a flash sync cord to my d70 and sb800. Now the flash sync cord is stuck in my d70 hotshoe. It went in fine and worked fine but when i wanted to remove it, it was totally stuck!!

Has anyone ever faced this situation before? How can i remove the flash sync cord without damaging the hotshoe?

I know this doesn't help you, but a hotshoe doesn't cost much. For Canon it's S$30.

It could be that your hotshoe itself is already damaged, and that's preventing you from taking out the cord.

hmm.. don't think the hotshoe is damaged, i think the sync cord head was probably not built well enough and got stuck... sigh..

are you using the original Nikon TTL cord? if yes, turn the knob to loosen it, so you can remove it from your hotshoe of D70.

would a little wd40 helps to lubricate?

You will need to loosen it FULLY because there is a locking pin that will only be retracted fully when the locking ring is fully loosened.

if it can go in, it should be able to come out. most likely the locking pin is not retracting enough.

mine is SC-17, don't have the locking pin, not sure about newer model. :)

iirc newer model got locking pin.

Yeah.. Hard to give right advice when we don't know which model of the sync cord he's using.
